Remember the has-been-accomplished
And the not-yet to come
Stitch by stitch
Already and not yet
The venom of death has died at the cross
The pain of death will die at restoration
The judgment of man has died at the cross
The opinion of man will die at restoration
Stitch by stitch
Inhale and exhale
Job cries, “Wisdom is from the fear of God”—faith
“Understanding is from turning away from evil”—repentance
Cling to faith in the faithful God already revealed
Repent along the path to restoration not yet come
Stitch by stitch
Faith and repentance
Like a healer stitching a wound, Christ threads
Back and forth between the already and not yet
Stitch by stitch
The pattern by which God heals
